Setting: human civilization has been through many challenges and had many triumphs, finally in the year 2211 humans realized their full potential with the discovery of the revolutionary ability known as turning and built a new world for themselves, advancements made include instantaneous travel by way of wormhole based vehicles, limitless resources and advancements in technology this is not however with out its problems, social unrest being among the most prevalent problems as the awakened ethereals exercise their power over the remaining organics and most of all the new found synthetic beings that populate the world, fortunately most of the disputes have been quelled by many anti combat measures that prohibit fighting in all but one select place
Glossary
>Turning: the potential of human beings unlocked though years of research, turning is powerful thought made reality or kinetic ability, this manifests itself in to powers such as pyrokinesis, biokinesis ect though the desired telekinesis has yet to be obtained, regular humans can use turning but only though extensive procedures done early in life can the full potential be realized
>Gears: Weapons created by turning based technology which emit harmless waves that synchronize with the users own brainwaves to produce their effects, for this reason a gear must be turned to the user and not all gears are compatible with everyone, the effects of the weapon are similar to but not the same as turning, they can be alternative or lesser effects usually revolving around a manipulative or emissive ability, red lightning instead of the more effective blue kind or steam rather than fire, the lack of turning ability is usually compensated by the weapons effectiveness in combat, gears are generally found upon in society so many Ethereals refuse to use them
>Overdrive: Gears can be set in to overdrive by their users, this will change their form and dramatically increase their ability but has mental and physical downsides both based on the initial effect, for example if the effect was fire it would become a superior blue flame with more precise control at the cost of a strong change in personality, like fire the user would become unpredictable and have a red hot temper and his physical body temperature would rise gradually until the overdrive was canceled so it is a risk to use
>Ethereals: humans that have been treated from an early age to reach their full turning potential, thease are people who come from aristocratic families each with their own traditional style of turning, part of the pressures they undergo as children dramatically extend their lives but make them physically weaker than normal, if only everyone could afford such procedures
>Organics: the name given to normal, run of the mill humans, thease are the balance between Ethereals and Synthetics with unhindered physical power and the ability to use turning tough it is weaker than that of an ethereal, usually middle class
>Synthetics: artificial humans made in laboratories who are unable to use turning naturally, they do however enjoy dramatically enhanced physical ability and usually use gears and wear plastic emotionless face masks when in the employ of ethereals (which they often are)
>the wastes: a vast, polluted orange desert that is all that remains of the old world, some humans and hostile synthetics live in this frontier
>the city of Eden: a vast expanse of beautiful shimmering city skyline, this is completely self sufficient metropoulos in which anyone can fulfil most any desire however your race and staining maters quite more than it should, the ability to turn decides what you can and cant do in this place
>the orchard: the only place where combat is allowed, gentlemen participate in duels here, waring factions take their conflicts here, its a controlled plain of existence with white rose bushes Romanesque marble buildings and clean rivers over light wooden bridges, a hedge-maze and a large arena, gold and purple apple trees and white grape vines spiral over many white pillars which fill a large clearing in the center of it all, this can be accessed by any public portal transportation vehicle
